HSBC SMS Terms of Service

Find the SMS Text Short Code below that matches your code for applicable terms and conditions, and, if needed, follow the directions for assistance.

 

HSBC Deposit Application - Short Code 89787

When you opt-in to the service, HSBC Bank will use Short Code 89787 to send you an SMS/text message with a passcode code that you will use to complete your application.

You will receive 1 SMS/text message with the passcode code that you requested.  Unless you are engaged in a transaction in the future that requires authentication, and you consent to receive a subsequent passcode message, you will not receive further messages from our service.

You can cancel the SMS/text service at any time. Just text "STOP" to 89787. If at any time you need assistance, just text "HELP" to 89787.

Participating carriers: Associated Carrier Group (ACG), AT&T, Boost, ClearSky, Google Voice, Interop, Metro PCS, Peerless Network, T-Mobile®, Sprint, Truphone, Limited, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless, and Virgin Mobile

HSBC Activate - Short Code 47221

When you opt-in to the service, we will send you an SMS message with an activation code for the requested service.
You will receive 1 message with the activation code that you requested. If you need your code resent, chat with us by clicking on the Live Chat icon on this page. Or, call us at 1-866-537-4722.
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to 47221. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us.
If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
If at any time you need assistance, just text "HELP" to 47221. After you send the SMS message "HELP" to us, we will respond with instructions on how to use our service as well as how to unsubscribe.

HSBC Credit Card Alerts - Short Code 31552

HSBC will use Short Code 31552 to send you SMS alerts regarding your credit card.  You must opt-in to begin receiving these alerts.  To enroll in our Credit Card Alerts service, log in to HSBC Online Banking and access your Credit Card Details.

This Short Code is also used to enroll in a Digital Wallet.  When you add an eligible HSBC credit card to a Digital Wallet, as part of the enrollment process you may be asked to complete additional verification steps.  You may have the option to select to receive an SMS message with a verification code to complete your enrollment.  You will receive 1 message with the verification code that you requested.

You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to 31552. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive Credit Card Alerts SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending Credit Card Alerts SMS messages to you again.

If at any time you need assistance, just text "HELP" to 31552. After you send the SMS message "HELP" to us, we will respond with instructions on how to use our service as well as how to unsubscribe.

HSBC Card Fraud Alerts SMS Terms of Service

HSBC Card Fraud SMS Alerts - Short Code 97808
 

HSBC will use short code 97808 to send you SMS alerts when we have detected potential fraudulent transactions on your HSBC credit and/or debit card account(s). SMS alerts will be sent to the mobile phone number we have on file for you. The messages you receive will ask you to verify whether or not a transaction being attempted is legitimate.

Card Fraud Alerts SMS messages will be free of charge for incoming and outgoing messages using one of the participating carriers noted below.

To cancel the SMS service, text "STOP" to 97808. When we receive "STOP", we will send you an SMS message confirming you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive Card Fraud Alerts SMS messages from us. To re-start this SMS service after canceling, text “START” to 97808 and you will begin to receive Card Fraud Alerts SMS messages again. 

If at any time you need assistance, text "HELP" to 97808. After you send the SMS message "HELP" to us, we will respond with instructions on how to use our service as well as how to unsubscribe.

Participating carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon
