A Classic RAL is a short-term loan for up to the amount of your expected income tax refund (less applicable fees), not to exceed $9,999. Funds are generally available within 2 business days.
Instant Refund Anticipation Loan
(Instant RAL)
An Instant RAL is a short-term loan for a portion of your expected income tax refund (less applicable fees), not to exceed $2,800. The Instant RAL is usually available within minutes of the application submission.
Federal Refund Anticipation Check
(Federal RAC)
A Federal RAC is not a loan. Receive the amount of your expected income tax refund (less applicable fees), once the IRS deposits your refund into an account at HSBC usually within two weeks, not to exceed $99,999.
State Refund Anticipation Check
(State RAC)
A State RAC is not a loan. State Refund amount (less applicable fees) is available once the State deposits your refund into an account at HSBC (varies by state, ranging from around 5 to 25 days). Available only in conjunction with a Classic RAL or Federal RAC application.
