The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is used to categorize what type of service/product a vendor provides.
None of these NAICS codes apply to my company. Which one am I supposed to pick?

I am a current supplier for HSBC and I received a notification asking me to fill out the supplier registration profile. Why?
We are updating our vendor information company-wide. This gives us a chance to update all of our information and get a better grasp of the commodities/services each of our vendors provides. Another key component of this update is to identify the status of your business in order to determine if you qualify to participate in the Supplier Diversity Program.
How do I modify my HSBC vendor profile (i.e., company name, address, contact information, etc.)?
Login with your UserID and password if you have previously registered and click Registration (link to be added). You then can update your fields. If you do not have a Login click 'New Registrant' (link needed) and follow the prompts.
What happens after I register on the Web site?
After you have completed your application and, your information will be entered into our supplier database. If there is a sourcing opportunity for your industry specific business, you may be contacted to submit additional information.
How long until I hear back from someone on my registration?
You will immediately receive an automated e-mail reply that HSBC has received your registration. However, this does not confer any approval, guarantee or pre-qualification status on any supplier. If there is a sourcing opportunity you may be contacted to submit additional information.

What is a 2nd tier supplier?
A 2nd tier supplier is a subcontractor to an HSBC primary supplier. These 2nd tier suppliers provide goods and services to HSBC as either direct spend or indirect spend:
-
Direct - Spend that directly supports HSBC. Payments are attributed to the specific diverse supplier.
-
Indirect - Spend that supports a supplier's overall business. Spend is not made specifically in support of HSBC. This amount is obtained by calculating a percentage of total spend.
