HSBC North America Holdings Begins Search for New Chicago-area Headquarters Facility
12 July 2005
PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill. – HSBC North America Holdings Inc. today announced the company has launched a search for a new Chicago-area headquarters facility to accommodate staffing growth at the top-10 financial services firm. As part of the site evaluation, the company is considering combining employee groups at its existing Prospect Heights facility with employee groups at the company’s two Mount Prospect locations.
The Prospect Heights-based company employs more than 6,100 people in Chicagoland.
HSBC, represented in the search by Jones Lang LaSalle, anticipates a decision on a location by the end of 2005, with operations at a new facility beginning by mid-2008.
“HSBC North America Holdings Inc. has proudly called Chicagoland home for more than a century, and will continue to do so for years to come,” said Steve Gonabe, executive vice president of administration at HSBC – North America. “As we evaluate our needs, we are seeking a facility whose location minimizes impact on our existing employee base and offers our employees several options for transportation and services.”
HSBC – North America comprises all of HSBC's U. S. and Canadian businesses, including the former Household International businesses. The company’s businesses serve nearly 60 million customers in five key areas: personal financial services, consumer finance, commercial banking, private banking and corporate investment banking and markets. Financial products and services are offered under the HSBC, HFC and Beneficial brands.
