HSBC – Retail Services Appoints Elisabeth McCombe Managing Director of New Market Development

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill. – December 9, 2004 – HSBC - North America announced today that Elisabeth (Molly) McCombe has been appointed managing director of new market development for its retail services business. In this newly created position, McCombe will be responsible for developing and expanding new consumer credit markets for the company’s retail services business. She will report directly to Sandy Derickson, group executive, HSBC North America Holdings Inc.
Before joining HSBC, McCombe was an associate principal at the Chicago office of McKinsey & Company, where she focused on strategy, growth and performance improvement for financial services industry clients. Prior to that, she was vice president of commercial lending at Fleet Financial Corporation in Boston.
“Molly represents a valuable addition to our retail services management team,” said Derickson. “She brings a unique perspective and a wealth of business acumen to this new position.”
McCombe received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University. She received her master’s from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
