Prospect Heights, IL (July 1, 2002) - Household International (NYSE:HI), the 124-year-old consumer lender, was honored last week by two nonprofit organizations, the United Cerebral Palsy Association and the American Cancer Society, for the company's ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities where its customers and employees live and work.
On June 25, Household received the corporate award from the United Cerebral Palsy Association for its dedication for enhancing the lives of people with disabilities. To help Lenart continue his professional development, Household is supporting him in his efforts to pursue a master's degree in software engineering at DePaul University.

"Household was a clear choice for our corporate award as a result of its solid commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities.
