Candidate Preparation
Get Ready for Your Career
Here are some useful tips to follow when applying for a position at HSBC.
Experience Matters
We believe in embracing diverse cultures and perspectives to best serve the needs of our clients. Even if your experience lies outside of financial services/banking, we invite you to demonstrate how your skills are transferable and what you can bring to our company.
We Value Talented Candidates
If you don’t get the first job you have applied for, we encourage you to explore other opportunities in the company.
Online Resume Submission
• Upload your resume as a Word document, not a PDF. Add a synopsis to the top of the page for quick appraisal by the recruiter.
• A well-written synopsis — with industry keywords — will help you stand out.
• If you are applying for several positions, submit a resume tailored to each particular opportunity
• Be truthful and accurate. We always do background checks of potential candidates.
Alternative Access
HSBC is committed to having our online job application process accessible by all including those individuals with a disability. HSBC offers an alternative method for applying for jobs to those who need an accommodation or cannot otherwise complete the online electronic application due to a disability. HSBC further provides reasonable accommodation to applicants and employees under the guidance of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Vietnam-Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 and certain state and/or local laws.
If you are in need of assistance due to a disability, please contact HSBC at na.resourcing.helpdesk@us.hsbc.com
Please do not use this alternative method for general inquiries, status on applications or other non-access questions as you will not receive a response.
Screening
After selecting candidates who meet basic qualifications, the recruiters will contact them by phone. This is to validate certain details as well as assess skills, salary requirements and geographical preference.
Interview
